WHAT DOES SMALL-BATCH MEAN AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

As a small-batch ceramic studio we produce on a smaller scale, in limited quantities. This way, we can reduce waste and take our time in crafting high quality, authentic pieces. We take care to create sustainable production cycles, working with nature instead of against nature.

Production Time:

Each piece is handcrafted by real hands, which takes time. If your order is currently not in stock, we will make it to order, meaning your piece will be made just for you. Production time can take between 2-5 weeks, and shipping time will vary depending on where you're located. Please view Shipping Guidelines for more details.

Please be aware that load shedding may cause extended production time.

SHIPPING GUIDELINES

Unless stated otherwise in the product listing, all pieces are made-to-order. Production time for your unique piece is approximately 2-4 weeks. Production time does not include delivery time, and may be affected by load shedding.

Shipping Times:

Please allow 1-3 business days for order fulfilment of in-stock items and another 2-4 business days for delivery.

As soon as your made-to-order items are ready, we'll dispatch it. Please allow 2-4 business days for delivery.

Shipping Costs:

We charge a flat rate of R70 for standard economy shipping throughout South Africa and R120 for next day delivery (once the order is ready for dispatch).

Priority Shipping:

Should you require in-stock items to be shipped immediately, please connect with us at alicasaceramics@gmail.com to arrange same-day fulfilment. Please note this may come at an additional cost.

Shipping Partner:

All items are shipped with the Courier Guy. Once your order ships from our studio, you will receive an email with tracking information.

Alicasa Ceramics is not liable for lost or stolen packages and releases responsibility upon transfer of order to the shipping carrier. We will not be held responsible for additional shipping charges incurred if packages are returned to our studio due to customer absence, errors in shipping addresses or package refusal.

CARE GUIDELINES

All our ceramics are 100% stoneware and fired to very high temperatures. This makes them durable and perfect for everyday use. Each piece is dishwasher safe, although it's always best to wash by hand to help extend the life of the piece.

It is not recommended to use our pieces in the oven or over an open flame.

WHAT IF AN ITEM IS OUT OF STOCK?

Ceramics:

We will indicate on each product how many items are in-stock. If there is no stock count shown, please continue with your order and your pieces will be made-to-order. We will begin production on your items immediately, and communicate via email as to the status of your order.

If a product is out of stock, it means we are not currently producing that item and you are not able to proceed with the order.

Nomadic Homeware:

Our nomadic homeware pieces are sourced from around the continent, and we return from our sourcing trips with a set amount of stock. So once an item goes out of stock, it is gone for good.

DO YOU USE ECO-PACKAGING?

Yes. All orders are packaged using recyclable/biodegradable paper, cardboard, and paper tape. We kindly ask customers to recycle, reuse and/or compost the packaging to eliminate landfill waste. In some cases we use post-consumer packaging, ie. re-used from other vendors. It may not be pretty, but it's better for our planet. We appreciate your understanding.

WHY DO MY PIECES LOOK DIFFERENT TO ONLINE?

All our pieces are lovingly handcrafted and as such, each piece may vary slightly in size, shape and colour.

We try our best to ensure all products are accurately displayed online, especially regarding their colour, but actual colour may be slightly different from what you see on your screen.

Natural variations are part of the nature of ceramics and we appreciate your understanding. You can also view more photo's and video's on our instagram page, @alicasaceramics, to make a more informed decision.

We want you to love your pieces, so if you are not 100% happy with your order, please view our Returns Policy to see how we can help.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURNS POLICY?

It is important to us that you are happy with your order. We are happy to offer exchanges, vouchers and refunds.

If you are not 100% happy with the items received, please contact us within 14 working days upon receipt of goods. Please provide us with your reason for return and proof of purchase. We will then send you instructions on how to safely ship the items back to us.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Return shipping costs will be at your own expense. Please ensure the items are adequately wrapped in protective wrapping. We are not responsible for any damages, loss or theft that occurs during the return shipment of your order.
  • Your order will only be eligible for an exchange, voucher or refund, if the items are returned to us in the exact same condition as they left the studio. Like new. No returns will be accepted if there is damage to an item.
  • Once the item has been returned to us, inspected and approved, we will email you to inform you of the next steps. We endeavour to resolve all returns within 14 business days from the date that your order is returned to our studio.
  • Eligibility for returns remains at the discretion of Alicasa Ceramics.

WHAT IF MY ITEMS WERE DAMAGED DURING SHIPPING?

All orders undergo quality checks and are sent in perfect condition. We take great care in packaging your order as safely as possible. However we cannot control the handling of the item once it leaves the studio. We recommend that you inspect your order upon delivery.

Breakage Policy:

We understand how disappointing it can be to receive a damaged item, thus, in the unfortunate event of damage or breakage during transit, we are happy to offer a replacement.

Please contact us within 48 hours of the delivery date with photos of the damaged items, the packaging materials, and an unobstructed shipping label. Please do not throw away the contents of the box until your exchange has been completed. After 48 hours of the delivery date, damaged goods will not be taken into consideration.

We reserve the right to issue refunds on the basis of breakages at our discretion.

All items are entirely handmade. As such, each piece may vary slightly in size, shape and colour. These characteristics are not considered flaws or damages, but rather contribute to the organic nature of handcrafted goods. 

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

Since most of our pieces are made-to-order and will enter into production quickly after order receipt, orders can only be canceled within 24 hours of purchase. Please contact us immediately should you wish to cancel your order.
